The Placentia Yorba Linda Unified Council of PTAs/PTSAs represents over 10,000 members at 32 schools in the Placentia Yorba Linda Unified School District. The Council is celebrating 50 years of supporting the local units in our district. The Council strives to educate unit leaders, model good parliamentary procedures and advocate on behalf of our members. We also provide thousands of dollars in scholarships to deserving graduating seniors annually.
The Placentia Yorba Linda Unified Council of PTAs/PTSAs shares the State PTA's mission: to positively impact the lives of all children and families.
What is a Council?
A council is a group of PTA units organized under the authority of the California State PTA for the purpose of conference, leadership training, and coordination of the efforts of the member units. A council provides the units within a city, county, or area an opportunity for cooperation in promoting their common interests and conference regarding their common problems. It coordinates the work of the council's units with other agencies or organizations in the area working for children and youth. It serves as a channel of communication between the state and district PTA and the units.
